Americans in the Paris history

2:30
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through some of Paris most iconic sights and discover how the American & French history are closely mixed. We will start with the Beat Generation through the Latin Quarter and its middle-aged narrow streets, where Burroughs, Corso , Ginsberg or Kerouac changed fundamentally the way we look at our society, rejecting the american way of life and announcing the cultural and sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies. We'll walk by the Founding Fathers in St Germain des Prés with Franklin, Jefferson & Paine. After resting in the left bankers preferred garden, we will finally meet the roaring twenties in Montparnasse and Luxembourg. You'll discover where the american constitution was written, the bars where Ernest Hemingway and Francis Scott Fitzgerald used to share drinks, the library that published James Joyce's Ulysse or the official birthplace of the United States ! But beside this nice walk back in time, share a drink and your experiences with us in one of the most inspiring place for young English speaking artists and authors in Europe, the famous Shakespeare & Co bookstore and its café.

Quelques mots sur moi
Hi, I'm Frank, engineer and bachelor in history.

My passion is for how the different cultures mixed up in the history of Paris, from the romans that created the city 2000 years ago to the Italians managing its finances in the Middle Age, the americans negotiating french help against the british empire in the 18th century, the germans being invaded or invading Paris up to the british that once ruled Paris.

I love to walk but not only ... and if you like fun ways to discover Paris, I'll be happy to make those visits with bikes, razor scooters (electric or not) or eventually with rollerblades.
